Children, Youth & Family Ministry Programs

Helping families grow together in Christ.

Spiritual Growth for Children of All Ages

At St. Luke’s, our children, youth, and family ministry programs are created to make faith fun for kids and help families grow together in Christ. Whether you’re looking for Sunday School, a family retreat, or ways to engage with the larger community, you’ll find a place in our faith community. We’d love to have you join us!

For questions about our children, youth, and family ministry programs at St. Luke’s, please email our Youth Director: Melinda Steen.

Sunday School: Where Kids Get to Learn and Have Fun

Every Sunday after our 10:00 AM worship service, kids ages 5–12 head off to Sunday School for a fun-filled hour of faith formation. The class runs from 11:15 AM to 12:15 PM, and is designed to be a place where kids can explore their faith, build friendships, and just have a good time. Additionally, we also love seeing kids worship with their families. Therefore, Sunday School gives everyone a chance to connect and grow together.

Vacation Bible School (VBS): The Ultimate Summer Fun

VBS is a highlight of our year for children, youth, and family ministries at St. Luke’s! It’s high-energy and full of excitement! It’s all about learning what it means to love God, each other, creation, and ourselves. Furthermore, we partner with the Eastside Lutheran Fellowship (ELF), so there are multiple VBS locations and dates to choose from. We think it’s the perfect way to kick off the summer with new friends, memorable songs, and meaningful lessons in Bellevue and beyond. Keep an eye out for registration in the spring.

Family Retreat: Relax, Recharge, and Build Memories

Looking for a weekend away to recharge as a family? Join us for our annual Family Retreat at a beautiful camp near Bellingham, WA. Specifically, it’s a time to connect, play, sing, share stories, and just enjoy God’s creation. There’s something special about unplugging from the daily grind and spending time together in nature. Therefore, whether it’s your first retreat or your fifth, it’s always a blast!

Confirmation: Growing in faith together

Our Confirmation program is for youth entering 7th grade. Confirmation is all about helping young people grow in their relationship with God. Through learning, reflection, and discussions, youth discover how to recognize God at work in their lives and in the world. Chiefly, it’s a chance for them to develop their faith and take ownership of their walk with Christ. All while being supported by a community of believers.

The PRAYground: A Space for Kids to Be Kids

We know that kids sometimes need to move and wiggle, so we’ve created The PRAYground. This space is a fun, interactive area where kids can be part of the service without sitting still in the pews. Located right in the sanctuary, the PRAYground lets kids color, draw, or even make a little noise while staying engaged in the worship experience. It’s a great way for children to be present during the service while still being free to express themselves.

Generations Together: Families of All Ages, Growing Together

Generations Together is all about bringing people of all ages—kids, youth, adults, and everyone in between—together. We believe that when we learn, serve, and play together, we strengthen our Bellevue church community and grow closer to God. Therefore, from meal-making and craft workshops to special projects, this program is designed to foster relationships across generations and build a stronger church family. Lastly, it’s always a lot of fun!

Our Partnership with ELF (Eastside Lutheran Fellowship)

We’re excited to partner with ELF, which is the youth segment of the Eastside Lutheran Church Community (ELCC).

ELF offers a variety of fun and meaningful programs for families. Whether it’s game nights, Trunk-or-Treat events, VBS, family retreats, fundraisers, or mission trips, ELF is all about building community across Seattle’s Eastside.

Check out the ELF website for the complete list of CY&F events.
